This course is designed to help employers understand the need to undertake thorough accident investigations and will cover guidance on this topic issued by the Health and Safety Executive.
The course will help managers and supervisors view accident investigation as an important part of any safety culture, understand and apply the principles of accident investigation, follow best practice investigation procedures, and understand the value of accident investigation and the need to collect detailed information in order to defend personal injury claims.
Frank Davies, Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission recently said: “Accidents take lives, cause pain and suffering, and cost money. It is right that formal accident investigation of the most serious incidents is undertaken by independent and highly trained inspectors. But employers can learn important lessons themselves by finding out what caused something to go wrong.
