Employment Law Division
All Lloyds employment law clients have access to our employment law helpline. They can ring us at any time, and speak to an adviser. All our helpline advisers are legally qualified and/or are members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). In many cases, the issue can be fully discussed during that phone call, and advice given at the same time. If the issue is more complex, we may need to do some research into a particular point of law, or case precedent, and ring back. You will be kept informed of what we are doing, and roughly how long it will be before we ring back. We may well refer you to documentation already in your possession, such as proforma letters or forms, or we may email or fax you the appropriate paperwork.
As part of our service, and within a short period of joining, we ensure all clients are provided with suitable employment documentation. We draw up the legally required written statement of employment particulars following discussions with you, in which we identify the details specific to your business, and possibly also, different categories of employees. We also draw up a comprehensive Employee Handbook, which includes your own terms and conditions on a wide variety of employment related subjects. This is the document that has to be given to each employee, or made available to them. You will also get a Management Manual, which contains detailed commentary on the law, and good human resources practice, on the issues in the employee Handbook. We encourage our clients to contact us with any employment query - sometimes the question may be outside our remit, but we will try to direct you to the right place.
