The Bribery Act takes effect from July. It creates a new corporate offence where companies can be held liable and prosecuted for bribery if an associated person (for example a supplier, distributor, consultant or employee) commits an unlawful act on their behalf - even if the company didn't know about it!
The defence for a company is the adequate procedures defence. Lloyds Law have had a number of queries as to what this actually means and what companies have to do.
To support our clients, Lloyds Law have put together a bite size and affordable two hour workshop presented by one of our Employment Law specialists that can take place in your own premises for up to 8 delegates at a time.
The workshop will inform you and your managers of what is required and will practically assist you in making the correct preparations.
'The workshop put the act into perspective and therefore saved us considerable time and effort in preparing for the Act'.
For existing clients the cost of the workshop is £250 plus VAT and travel expenses. For non-clients who are interested in having a workshop session, the cost is only £450 plus VAT and travel expenses.
Please contact our Course Administrator at employmentlaw@lelc.co.uk to make a booking or for further information.
